The journey has been an incredible mix of local challenges and monumental triumphs, especially when we successfully executed one of the biggest, most high-profile weddings the city had seen.

Managing events in a place like Berhampur comes with its own set of hurdles that big-city planners rarely face. We operate in a landscape where infrastructure and specialized vendor availability are often the core constraints.

1. The Vendor Constraint

In metropolitan areas, you can find a dozen specialized vendors for everything from exotic flowers to hydraulic stages. Here? We often have to build that infrastructure ourselves. We realized early on that relying solely on Bhubaneswar or Vizag for specific décor elements or technicians was too risky, given the travel time and potential road issues.

Our Solution: We invested heavily in local talent and equipment. We trained a reliable, in-house technical team and nurtured relationships with local craftsmen, giving them our designs to execute. This not only ensured quality control but also empowered the local economy.

2. Manpower and Training

Finding well-trained, disciplined, and reliable manpower for set-up, execution, and hospitality is tough. Event management demands long, grueling hours and meticulous attention to detail.

Our Solution: We created a dedicated core team and developed a standardized training module. Every person on the Classic Events team, from the floor manager to the light technician, knows our standard operating procedures (SOPs). This professionalism is what differentiates us from the competition and allows us to promise a seamless experience to our clients.

Our Solution: We treat contingency planning as a fundamental step. We maintain silent, high-capacity generators on standby for every major function and run dry runs on all electrical setups. This preparation ensures that even if the city power goes out, the music never stops.

Our biggest test came when we were entrusted with the three-day wedding celebration of a prominent business family. The stakes were incredibly high: the guest list included political dignitaries, industrialists, and extended family from across the globe.

For the Sangeet, we designed a ‘Stars of Bollywood’ theme, building a custom LED stage and coordinating a complex light show. For the main wedding, we opted for a majestic, traditional, yet minimalist look, focusing on exotic floral arrangements imported from Kolkata, blended with local Odia Pattachitra elements. This blend of the local heart with a global look was key.

In a small town, a high-profile event generates a lot of buzz. Our biggest operational priority, besides the décor, was guest experience and privacy. We deployed a specialized hospitality team that handled everything from airport transfers to room check-ins, ensuring guests felt like they were in a secluded luxury resort, not a bustling town. Every transition between the three venues was managed like a military operation—smooth, silent, and on time.
